Wishing you many chequered flags in 2010!
In these early days of 2010, I would like to wish you all the best and plenty of success in your personal and professional endeavours for this New Year! Looking back in the rear-view mirror, 2009 was a very special year in my car racing career. Far from the excitement of the triple challenge of Daytona-Indianapolis-Le Mans in 2008, my faithful partner HighCo and I focused on our third year (second year in a row) at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I drove the Corvette C6.R with the Luc Alphand Aventures Team at a test session at the Dijon-Prenois circuit. I had not driven on that track in a very long time. The atmosphere was wonderful between the team, its manager Philippe Poincloux and the drivers selected for Le Mans. With Luc Alphand and Patrice Goueslard in the #72 and Julien Jousse, Yann Clairay and Xavier Maassen in the #73, we formed a pair of  non-factory Corvettes gunning for the podium in the GTI classification at Le Mans. It happened for the #73. As for us, after a very promising start to the race, an Aston Martin LMP1 (thereafter penalised 6 minutes) put an end to our hopes by hitting us at Tertre Rouge around 10pm.? For 2010, the goal is simple: gear up for our fourth race at Le Mans (third consecutive year). With 5 Rolex 24s and 7 Indy 500s, this will be a superb addition to my career! We hope to pursue the partnership between HighCo and the ALPHAND team. Our sports ambition is revved up to triumph in the GT1 category in 2010. The human and social sides of racing also rank as top priorities, as shown by the team?s campaign in the Telethon (see news, ?Le rêve de Thomas?) or the current preparations for the Mobygreen project to put on the first Electric Grand Prix in France. Hoping to see you in Le Mans this June or Indianapolis in May?.
